#10 - Extras (2005)

Created by and starring the team that brought you the original, British version of The Office, Extras takes a comedic look at the world of background acting. My favorite thing about this series is that each episode is named after and features a celebrity guest star. Each guest star plays an outlandish version of themself, which leads to loads of laughs. Some of the hilarious actors that appeared on the show include Patrick Stewart (X-Men, Star Trek), Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, Miracle Workers), and Kate Winslet (Titanic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). All told, this is quick binge that is well worth the short commitment (13 episodes total).

#9 - Master of None (2015)

Aziz Ansari (Parks & Recreation, Funny People) co-created and stars in this single-camera series following the professional and personal life of an actor living in New York City. The series is critically acclaimed and has won three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. A Netflix Original Series streaming in gorgeous 4K resolution, Master of None is a fun binge that offers a unique perspective of working, dating, and living in NYC in the late 2010s.

#8 - The Ranch (2016)

The only multi-camera sitcom on this list, The Ranch is sort of a guilty pleasure for us. This Netflix Original Series is an easy watch and provides lots of laughs. Led by Aston Kutcher (That 70’s Show, Dude Where’s My Car) and Sam Elliott (A Star is Born, Roadhouse), The Ranch is centered around the Bennett family farm in Garrison, Colorado. Colt (Kutcher) is a washed up former football star that is forced to move back to the farm to start over. He reconnects with his high school sweetheart (played by the great Elisha Cuthbert of 24 fame) and tries to make good. All in all, we love Sam Elliott’s Bo and loved binging the series to hear all of his great jokes and one-liners.

#7 - I’m Sorry (2017)

You may have missed this wonderful series when it originally aired on TruTV, but you can binge it now on Netflix! Created by and starring Andrea Savage (Veep, Step Brothers), I’m Sorry focuses on her character’s journey through life as a comedy writer, wife, and mother in Los Angeles. The two seasons are a quick, but enjoyable watch that we highly recommend.

#6 - Community (2009)

While it was never a ratings powerhouse, Community developed a cult following that is sure to only increase after becoming streamable on Netflix. Created by Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty) and starring an ensemble cast led by Joel Mchale (Talk Soup, Ted) and breakout stars Donald Glover (Atlanta, Solo: A Star Wars Story) and Alison Brie (Glow, Mad Men), this show takes a hilarious look upon the world of community college. The comical characters and great writing are just some of the reasons you should give this show a binge.

#5 - Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015)

They alive, dammit! From the team that brought you 30 Rock (Tina Fey and Robert Carlock), this Netflix Original Show is packed full of non-stop jokes. Ellie Kemper hilariously plays the naive title character, who knows little of the real world after being locked in a bunker for years. After being rescued, she moves to New York and meets a cast of characters led by the great Tituss Burgess (Dolemite is My Name) and 30 Rock alum Jane Krakowski. You’ll never know what’s coming in this single-camera comedy. After you binge the series, be sure to watch their inactive special, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs the Reverend, a choose your own adventure movie!

#4 - Schitt$ Creek (2015)

David! From the father-son duo of Eugene and Dan Levy, this show is one of the funniest shows from the past few years. Another riches to rags story a la Arrested Development, the show is centered around the trials of the Rose family. Katherine O’Hara (Home Alone, Beetlejuice) thrives as the family’s matriarch. At the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards, Schitt$ Creek swept all 7 comedy categories for it’s final season, becoming the first show to accomplish the feat.

#3 - The Good Place (2016)

What the fork? From the co-creator of the American version of The Office, Michael Schur, comes a sitcom like no other. Set in the afterall, this show deals with its protagonists after their untimely deaths. With a hilarious cast led by Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Ted Dansen (Cheers, Becker), you’ll be laughing at every plot twist. Truly a comedic masterpiece, binge this before you receive any spoilers!

#2 - New Girl (2011)

Who’s up for a game of True American? Zooey Deschanel (500 Days of Summer, Elf) leads a hilarious ensemble cast in this former FOX single-camera sitcom. Jake Johnson (Jurassic World, Safety Not Guaranteed), Max Greenfield (The Neighborhood, The Big Short), and Lamorne Morris (Desperados, Game Night) became breakout stars from this show that ran from 2011-2018. The plot centers around Jessica Day (Deschanel) who moves into an apartment with the three male costars following her breakup with her longtime boyfriend. This show is full of laughs, has plenty of heart, and is a super easy binge.

#1 - Arrested Development (2003)

There’s always money in the banana stand! My personal favorite comedy series, Arrested Development tells the story of the downfall of the Bluths, a dysfunctional family in the real estate development business. Originally airing on Fox and later revived at Netflix, the single-camera comedy is narrated by Ron Howard (Happy Days, Apollo 13) and features a huge cast of stars including Jason Bateman (Ozark, Juno), Will Arnett (Flaked, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Portia de Rossi (Ally McBeal, Scandal), and many more. The unique style and recurring themes make for one of the funniest shows in television history.
